The EN54 MX series is mainly used to power external sounders in fire alarms where an EN54-4 certified battery backup is required. The EN54 MX series is also certified according to EN12101-10 for use with smoke dampers.
The EN54 MX series offers controlled charging which means that the batteries are never charged with more than 1-3A (depending on the variant). This prevents the batteries from ever being overcharged and significantly extends their lifespan. The EN54 MX performs qualified battery capacity testing and notifies when the batteries need to be replaced.
